I finished writing Those to live for sometime in spring, and did a final sweep of editing. It might have been a bit too soon to upload it, but I wanted things finished, and this particular thing has been going for over a year now.
I had a lot of fun painting the title art, though sadly they do not fit the writing blog’s layout well. So here is an uncut version of them. They are some of the first watercolour art I did without lineart, and I still don’t know if I should have added lines in the end.
Those to live for is four chapters long, and you can read it on my writing blog here:
Those to live for, Part 1
Those to live for, Part 2
Those to live for, Part 3
Those to live for, Part 4, Final Part
Though this story is done now, I will definitely revisit the world and these characters in the future, as their story is far from over-
I also started to sort all the short stories taking place in the FYRverse and putting them into the right order. You can find the list here:
If it be your will
That I speak no more
And my voice be still
As it was before
I will speak no more
I shall abide until
I am spoken for
If it be your will
Dalinar and Navani Kholin, from the Stormlight Archive. I have yet to find a song that fits them better than Leonard Cohen’s If it be you will.
Ink and Watercolour
“I am Unity.”
Dalinar stood within a pillar of light and spinning gloryspren, one hand to each side, clutching the realms that made up reality. […]
These Words… are accepted, the Stormfather said, sounding stunned. How? What have you done.
For eight years, I always used elf ears made from Latex, some better, some worse, but for this season I got my first pair of silicone ears.
The difference is striking. they look so much better, are comfortable to wear and much more sturdy. The only downside is, I feel they are a tad too long, as I prefer ears with shorter tips. However, this is only MadhouseStudioFX second style of silicone ears, so I will keep an eye out for new releases.
Thank you for Kelric and Nummi for catching these moments during the Final Battle of the Epic Empires 2017
These are the only pictures with the finshed armour surcoat, which proved to be resisant to dirt, fake blood and everything else. By tha way, this scalemaille is waterproof, and it probably saved my life, because it was raining nonstop.
I led an army on a Larp this summer, and it went terribly wrong, in almost every way. In the end we had some good fights, and some of my mistakes led to a mighty epic conflict.
But If I ever do something like this again, I need to learn how to shout first. Apparently my voice is not as loud as I thought it was.
“Der Faden, der dies Schicksal
an mich gürtet, feiner als
der Harfensaite Klang,
Doch kein Schwert vermag es
ihn zu trennen.
