Hanbok-style Surcoat

I am working on a civillian garb for Iseul-Sung, my Palace Servant character. Like the rest of the costume it is inspired by traditional Hanbok.

I’ve read somwhere that Hanbok is partially glued together istead of sewn, but of course it doesn’t say where its glued. Still, lots of textile glue hidden in this costume.

Mage cap WIP

The first part of the embroidery for the mage cap is done, now I just have to sew it to the felt cap and make more embroidery. I love embroidering on organza, a technique used by Michelle Carragher to embellish the game of thrones costumes.

Masquerada: Songs and Shadows

Masquerada: Songs and Shadows released two weeks ago, and it’s an amazing storytelling experience! The game is not flawless, but I enjoyed it from the first to the last moment, especially the detailed world building and the diverse cast with their convincing voice-acting. And it inspired me to paint. It also makes me want to cosplay, which puts one more costume on my want-to-make list.

The painting is in gouache on Chinese paper, which is quite different from my usual watercolour workflow.

I am in a painting mood, experimenting with new techniques. Aiming for a style similiar to John Bauer’s works, this was the first time I did the watercolour part first and added the lineart afterwards.
