The Wandering Harpist

Moringaard3.jpg

I have been moving forward a lot these past months. I moved to Graz, started working.

While I am adapting to those changes in my life quite well (I still do a lot of costume Crafting in my free time, though I cannot show what I am working on yet), My Larp Character is not as lucky. Elrian has become a respected leader but is now finally past the point where all those responsibilities are starting to crush her. Moringaard with all my fellow elves was a very emotional and combat intense larp. And still, I cannot remember when I had this much time for music on a larp.

Also, “Harp-triforce” is now a specific piece of furniture.

Thank you, Eva Jaksch, for taking these photos!

Elven leather bracers with silver rank insignia

bracer 4

My bracers are finished. The etched nickel silver insignia signify her rank in the military. The weathering effect was more of an accident with the scrubbing side of a sponge, but one that earned said sponge a permanent place in my leather tool kit.

Elven Leather bracers

My Elven warrior finally has some arm protection now! My boyfriend did most of the crafting here, since he is far better in leather working than me. I did the design and the finish.

They are technically till WIP, since the metal rank insignia is still missing on the tip.

Elven Felt Pouch

This belt pouch is made from felt and dupion silk, and took me about three days. Its tailored to hold a fist-sized conch horn.

I didn’t have a plan for this before I started but instead just made it up during the process.

Embroidered Rain Cloak

After last year’s very rainy Epic Empires everyone is doing new Cloaks, coat and capes.

This is mine, still a WIP and one of my larger embroidery project.

I will be adding a thin water-proof membrane between the layers of wool, and the whole cloak will be relatively stiff, with large barely visible embroidery in the front and in the back.

The Tear-lakes of Celendria

Being the first of my two planned winter Larps this Year, Celendria‘s Winter Feast did not only have excellent food, but also a beautiful ceremony at dawn that symbolized Unity within the City’s different Elven People.

The Photos were taken by Wiri Pusch.
